Logan Library Author Night
Back in January Shannon Hale declared herself the Queen of Logan, Utah and promised to do an event there with James Dashner and Jessica Day George. On Friday April 22nd, Shannon made good on her promise and in addition to James and Jessica she brought Ally Condie and Brandon Mull along. (Yes, you read that right- 5 amazing authors all in one event. Can we say Fangirl overload?!?!)
The evening was a huge success- what the Logan Library thought was going to be a small author signing turned into a huge event that was attended by approximately 1000 people. It made me so happy to see so many people of different ages gather together to celebrate these authors, their books and reading in general!
I love the Utah author community. I have attended book signings for each of these authors except Jessica Day George before (No, I’m not a stalker! Ok, maybe I am a little bit of a stalker but they like it, I promise
) but seeing them all together was a real adventure. It was obvious to all in attendance that these authors are great friends and truly support each other.

The event started with a the authors introducing each other then they spoke about writing and then answered questions. There was a lot of laughter thtoughout the night. I have two clips from the Q&A that give you a pretty clear idea of how the evening went. (I apologize for the loud laughter in the video
)
Do writers really need to have deeper meaning hidden in everything?
What is your favorite fruit?
After the panel and q&a the authors all signed books for hours. My group of friends and I finally left about 11:30 and they were still signing away. I don’t know how late they were there but I was very impressed with their patience. I hope they all got hand massages the next day!
I managed to get a signed copy of a book from each of the authors to giveaway. I have Matched by Ally Condie, Beyonders: A World Without Heros by Brandon Mull, The Maze Runner by James Dashner, Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George and Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale. To enter to win one of these books simply fill out this form. You don’t have to be an EFG Twitter or Facebook follower but you do get extra entries if you are. The deadline to enter is Sunday, May 1st. (Disclaimer: my life is crazy for the next few weeks so if I don’t get your books mailed in a timely manner please don’t hate me.)

I was at the event as well, and Brandon Mull was there until midnight. MIDNIGHT! We got to him about 10 to, and he was just as happy and pleasant as he’d been at the beginning of the evening. These were some truly amazing people, and I’m so lucky to have gotten to spend some time with them.
Love your blog! I’m adding your link to my blog so I can keep up!
