Friday Five (84)
One of our favorite authors, Cheryl Renee Herbsman inspired us to start one of our own Friday Fives. Each Friday morning, we will post a prompt, question, topic, idea, etc. and respond to it. We encourage you to post your own thoughts in the comment section! If you decide to start your own Friday Five, please credit it back to Cheryl’s blog.

This week is February Break here in NY, so I’ve had the week off from school. The best part of school break is getting some down time to just hang out and have fun! So this week I want to know what are your 5 favorite things to do during school break?

Kate~
1. Sleep in: it’s such a simple thing, but it’s so nice to not have to have the alarm on! I find it hard to sleep in too late (a two year old will do that), but I enjoy waking up to someone yelling “Hey Mom!” at 8:00 so much more then I enjoy a beeping alarm at 6:15am.
2. Popcorn and PJ Days: aka sit around and watch movies all day while eating junk food. In years past I would catch up on all the movies I’d missed, this year I watched Lady and the Tramp 3 times (a two year old will do that too…).
3. Going to the Zoo: We hae a decent zoo here, it’s not amazing, but it has some fun animals and it’s a nice walk- if the weathers nice we usually hit it up wih friends and spend the day taking pictures, looking for the elusive white wolf (he is always hiding) and eating zoo food.
4. Reading books: School break is the perfect time to catch up on books that have been staring at me for months just begging to be read.
5. Taking a proper vacation to somewhere warm!: When I was a kid we always went somewhere warm during February break. Usually Florida, butonce we went to Maui and another year we went to St. Croix. I’m actually not a beach person and I don’t really enjoy the sun so much (I burn really, really easily)- but it’s always fun to escape the snowbelt for warmer weather! Next year we’ll hopefully be taking the toddler for her first rip to Disney!
