Maximum Ride Mondays: School’s Out Forever #2

June 11, 2012, Posted by Sara at 1:42 pm

“Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride and the other members of the “Flock”–Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel–are just like ordinary kids–only they have wings and can fly. It seems like a dream come true–except that they’re being hunted by half-human, half-wolf “Erasers” who can fly, too.

In Book 2 of the series, the Flock members are taken under the wing of an FBI agent and try to live “normal” lives by going to school, making friends–and continuing their relentless search for their parents. But the Erasers return, forcing the Flock to abandon their search and make their escape once again. The voice inside Max’s head keeps telling her that it’s up to her to save the world, but this is especially challenging to do when she is faced with her ultimate match: a newer and better version of herself, Maximum Ride II. Max’s heart-stopping quest to investigate the mind-blowing mystery of her ultimate destiny continues in the scariest, strangest, and funniest James Patterson novel yet.” – Goodreads.com

With most student’s off for summer break, this is a fitting title to feature this week! The gang is on the move once again and looking for answers. This time, they must return to “school,” the place where it all began to find the answers they need. It is so easy to fall in love with these characters. They are funny and witty. I want the answers as bad as they do. I want them to be happy and to stop being chased. When will it all end for them? I guess you’ll just have to wait to see what happens next week!

Happy Reading!

 Fun Quotes from Goodreads.com

“Did you know that wasn’t me, the other Max?” I asked.
“Yeah.”
“When?”
“Right away.”
“How?” I persisted. “We look identical. She even had identical scars and scratches. She was wearing my clothes. How could you tell us apart?”
He turned to me and grinned, making my world brighter. “She offered to cook breakfast.”

“You…are…a…fridge…with wings,’ Fang ground out, punching an Eraser hard with every word. ‘We’re…freaking…ballet…dancers.”

“We’ll be back!” he snarled.
It was really Ari’s voice.
Boy, you just can’t kill people like you used to,” said Fang”

  1. It’s been a while since I’ve read the actual books, but seeing the quotes there makes me realize what a good job they did keeping the manga true to the book. Some of the lines are lifted directly!
