Camp Eve: Around the Campfire – Elana Johnson

Summer Camp is coming to an end! *sad face*

One of the classic traditions on the last night of summer camp is to sit around the campfire telling stories and singing songs.

We asked authors to share with us a memories of the 80′s or they could tell us about their favorite 80′s music.

Elana shared a cute story with us…

I’m not much of a pop culture junkie. I do terrible at those Family Feud questions on Facebook, trust me.

But my favorite thing about the 80s—where I spent a lot of my childhood—was the emergence of the boy band, namely New Kids on the Block. We loved them! We knew all their songs and choreographed roller skating routines to them. No lie.

Here’s me in the 80s, sans roller stakes, sadly.

Elana’s work, including POSSESSION, REGRET, and SURRENDER, is available from Simon & Schuster wherever books are sold. She wishes she could experience her first kiss again, tell the mean girl where to shove it, and have cool superpowers like reading minds and controlling fire. To fulfill her desires, she writes young adult science fiction and fantasy. Visit her at her blog, on Facebook, or tweet her.
