I have loved books ever since I was a kid. I remember sprinting down the block to get to the Bookmobile in time to check out a new book. Or snuggling up on these whistle shaped chairs in our school library to read during our library time. And I distinctly remember my family members reading to me as a kid all the time! As an adult I am a kid in a candy shop whenever I am in a bookstore! And meeting an author is seriously like a fangirl moment for me!
I just can’t seem to get excited about reading even though I am surrounded by amazing books just are all waiting patiently to take me on an adventure. It’s not that I don’t have the opportunity to read, either. I just look at the books and the spark just isn’t there. Even the brand new Stephen King book is sitting on my brand new IKEA book shelf and I can’t get up the desire to crack it open! The new Pitticus Lore book in the I Am Number Four series is sitting right here. I read a few pages of it and set it down.
What is wrong with me?? And has this ever happened to you??
I know I am passing up several opportunities to read amazing stories by amazing authors. What do I do to get out of this slump?
